The Directory Team Sync feature in Peoplelogic Impact allows you to automatically sync employee and team data from your HR Information System (HRIS) or IT systems (such as Entra or Google) directly into the platform using Merge APIs. This ensures your employee data is always up-to-date, minimizing manual data entry and improving accuracy. You can see the current list of supported Merge Integrations and Peoplelogic Integrations.
If you’re interested in being an early user of this new feature, we can send you a link to get started. There’s no additional charge!
Before you get started with HRIS Sync - please review what it will and will not do! Anything beyond these items will require custom work and delay your launch.
The sync automatically updates key employee details in Peoplelogic, including:
First and Last name
Job Title
Start Date
Manager(s)
Teams and Department Membership
Location
Time Zone
Gender
Birth Date
Employment Status (Active/Inactive)
Termination Date
Employee ID (coming soon)
If employees are part of multiple teams or departments (called Groups in Entra ID and Google Workspace) , some manual mapping may have to be done to accurately reflect those memberships, maintaining the proper hierarchy and group structures from your HRIS.
When a team or department is deactivated in your HRIS, Peoplelogic will automatically reflect those changes, ensuring that your team structure remains accurate and up to date.
Limiting to a Subset of Employees
If you're part of a much larger organization and only want part of your employees sync'd, we can optionally limit the sync to a specific group of users. Be sure to request this during setup!
No Data Removal: The HRIS sync will update or add new data but will not remove any existing data in Peoplelogic. For instance, if a field like job title is updated, it will revert to the HRIS value during the next sync.
Limited Customization: Currently, the sync supports only the pre-defined employee fields listed above. Any custom field updates must be made directly in your HRIS.
Does not filter by specific employee types
Does not filter by custom fields
Does not filter groups by name
Does not sync employee photos (contact your CSM if you'd like us to upload these!)
We provide you with a Merge Magic Link to connect your HRIS to Peoplelogic.
Our team will work with you to make sure everything get's mapped into your Peoplelogic directory.
You will be able to connect your HRIS directly from the Peoplelogic platform in the near future:
Navigate to Workspace Settings > Integrations.
Select HRIS Sync Integration.
Click Integrate to open the Merge window and select your HRIS tool.
Follow the Merge steps to connect your HRIS. Once completed, the sync will automatically begin.
Once HRIS sync is enabled, employee and team data can no longer be edited manually in Peoplelogic. All changes must be made in your HRIS, and updates will reflect in Peoplelogic during the next scheduled sync.
Sync Frequency: Syncing occurs according to Merge’s scheduled intervals.
Data Integrity: Any updates made directly in Peoplelogic will revert to the HRIS data during the next sync to ensure consistency.
Save Time: Automate the process of updating employee and team data, so you don’t have to manage it manually.
Reduce Errors: Ensure your Peoplelogic data is always accurate and up to date, reflecting the most recent changes from your HRIS.
Streamline Data Management: Once the HRIS sync is enabled, all updates flow directly from your HRIS, simplifying your data processes and reducing inconsistencies.
Every customer is unique, so to ensure we get the data in as smoothly as possible, we've created the following checklist. Just answer the questions below and send it to your CSM to get started!
